Trip to the "Pumpkin World"
Welcome to the Statek u Pipků in the Pumpkin World.
On the farm in Nová Ves near Leština in the Vysočina region, various kinds of squashes are grown in many shapes and colors. Bright orange pumpkins for Halloween are grown, from the smallest ones, perfect for spooky creations for children in kindergartens, to the giant ones. Various types of pumpkins that are excellent vegetables for cooking are also offered. To create beautiful autumn decorations, it is possible to choose from a range of decorative gourds.
Children can have fun at the Statek u Pipků farm. A garden with various natural attractions made of wood and straw is prepared for them. They can let off steam in the “straw pool” or on straw bales, which are used every year to build a straw castle. Typical farm animals of the Czech countryside can be seen here. There are usually horses, a calf, a piglet, sheep, goats, rabbits and a pony called Princess.

Practical information
Most groups from kindergartens and primary schools arrive on weekdays at around nine o’clock in the morning.
For buses bringing the children, there is a designated car park located approximately 100 metres from the farm.
Some kindergartens have a snack on the bus on the way. Most kindergartens have their snack here at the farm.
After the snack, groups head out to the garden, where there are wooden and straw attractions for children and, during the “Pumpkin World” season, variously arranged pumpkins and different runs and mazes between them. In the garden there are also animals: a pony, sheep, goats. Some groups first go to see the barn. In the barn there is a pumpkin shop set up in the form of display shelves. Each pumpkin has a label with its name and possible uses for that particular variety. The barn also usually houses a calf, a piglet and large rabbits.
Children from primary schools can buy a pumpkin of their choice or a small snack.
In the spacious courtyard there are toilets for women, men and people with disabilities, with sufficient capacity.
Kindergartens and primary schools can buy a small gourd for each child, which they then take home or back to the kindergarten for further creative activities. If a kindergarten or school is interested in small pumpkins for every child, it is ideal to let us know in advance. This allows preparation for a larger order.
Visits from kindergartens last approximately two hours.
Clothing should be suitable for spending time in nature. It is important to keep in mind that autumn mornings tend to be cold and the grass is often wet with dew or even touched by early frost. By the end of October, winter clothing is often needed. There is a heated restaurant area at the farm where children can warm up if necessary. At the same time, the farm and its garden offer plenty of activities that keep children warm through movement.
If the weather forecast is poor or the weather turns bad on the morning of the trip, the visit can be cancelled without any further obligations. A phone contact for the trip organiser is always taken, and usually once or twice during the Pumpkin World season, kindergartens are contacted proactively and the trip is cancelled with the explanation that if it is going to rain all day, the visit would not be pleasant. Any decision to cancel the trip due to bad weather is fully respected. If the weather is unfavourable for only part of the morning, there is plenty of covered space (barn, upper floor of the barn, covered area by the barn, restaurant, outdoor seating). All these areas can be used to wait out a passing shower and, for example, spend the time carving a Halloween pumpkin.
Most groups leave at around eleven o’clock in the morning so they can make it back for lunch at the kindergarten or school. A longer stay is possible only by prior arrangement. Some groups also buy pumpkins for children for creative activities or for cooking in the school canteen, for example for a delicious pumpkin soup.
FREE WIFI throughout the entire area
