Statek u Pipků farm for Kindergartens,
Primary School Grades 1–5 and Groups of Children
Practical information
Most groups from kindergartens and primary schools arrive on weekdays at around nine o’clock in the morning.
For buses bringing the children, there is a designated car park located approximately 100 metres from the farm.
Some kindergartens have a snack on the bus on the way. Others have their snack at the farm or directly in the forest.
After a snack, groups set off from the car park by tractor “taxi” and go to the forest, which is adapted for free play, or they head to the garden prepared for free play, where wooden and straw attractions for children are located. During the “Pumpkin World” season, variously arranged pumpkins and different running tracks between them are also placed here. There are also animals at the farm: two horses, a cow “Žofinka”, a pony “Princess”, sheep and goats, and large rabbits.
Children from primary schools can buy a pumpkin of their choice during “Pumpkin World” or small refreshments during a spring trip.
In the spacious courtyard there are toilets for women, men and people with disabilities, with sufficient capacity. A toilet is also available at the “forest playground”.
In autumn, kindergartens or primary schools can buy a small squash for each pupil, which they then take home or back to the kindergarten for further creative activities. If a kindergarten or school is interested in small pumpkins for everyone, it is ideal to inform in advance. This makes it possible to be prepared for a larger order.
Visits from kindergartens last approximately two hours.
Clothing should be suitable for spending time in nature. It is important to keep in mind that spring and autumn mornings tend to be cold and full of dew in the grass, or even with morning frosts. By the end of October, winter clothing is often needed. There is a heated restaurant area at the farm where children can warm up if necessary. However, the farm and its garden also offer plenty of activities that keep children warm through movement. When visiting the “forest playground”, children warm up not only by moving around, but in bad weather they can also warm up by the fire and have a hot drink.
If the weather forecast is poor or the weather turns bad on the morning of the trip, the trip can be cancelled without any further obligations. A phone contact for the trip organiser is always taken, and usually once or twice during Pumpkin World it happens that kindergartens are called proactively and the trip is cancelled with the explanation that if it is going to rain all day, the trip would not be pleasant. Any decision to cancel the trip due to bad weather is also respected. If the weather is unfavourable for only part of the morning, there is plenty of covered space (barn, upper floor of the barn, covered area by the barn, restaurant, outdoor seating). All these places can be used to wait out a temporary spell of bad weather and, for example in autumn, to enjoy carving a Halloween pumpkin.
Most groups leave at around eleven o’clock in the morning so that they can make it back for lunch at the kindergarten or school. A longer stay is only possible by prior arrangement. Some groups also buy pumpkins for children for creative activities or for cooking in the school canteen, for example for a delicious pumpkin soup.
